Position Summary
The Red Cross Volunteer Services team is seeking an organized and people-oriented Administrative Support paid intern to assist with day-to-day volunteer engagement activities. This role is ideal for someone interested in humanitarian work, nonprofit operations, emergency management, human resources, or community engagement.
As part of the Volunteer Services department, you will help support the volunteer recruitment and engagement process by assisting with outreach efforts, following up with prospective volunteers, coordinating community connections, and supporting virtual presentations and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up with prospective volunteer leads and assist with volunteer engagement communication
- Support outreach efforts with community organizations, partners, and local groups
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating virtual presentations and information sessions
- Help prepare materials and communications for volunteer recruitment activities
- Maintain organized records and provide general administrative support to the Volunteer Services team
- Assist with promoting volunteer opportunities and increasing community awareness
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support recruitment and engagement initiatives
Ideal Candidate

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable speaking with individuals virtually and through email outreach
- Basic administrative and computer skills
- Able to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Friendly, professional, and mission-driven
Time Commitment
- Flexible schedule
- Approximately 8–24 hours per week
