Reports To: ReStore Store Manager or Assistant Manager

Organization Overview:

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home goods, building materials, and more. Proceeds support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope.

Position Summary:

The ReStore Retail Associate supports daily store operations by assisting customers, processing sales, stocking inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. This role plays a vital part in delivering excellent customer service and promoting the mission of Habitat for Humanity. Retail Associates may also assist with donation intake and volunteer support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service & Sales:
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Operate the cash register and process sales accurately.
  • Answer customer questions and help locate merchandise.
  • Inventory & Merchandising:
  • Stock, organize, and display merchandise on the sales floor.
  • Assist with loading and unloading donations as needed.
  • Store Maintenance:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
  • Assist in cleaning tasks, including sweeping, dusting, and organizing shelves.
  • Team & Volunteer Support:
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members and volunteers.
  • Support volunteers by providing guidance and assistance as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, helpful attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
