vTech Solution is looking for a bright & dynamic incumbent for the position of HR Specialist – Intern to work from its Virginia office. Incumbent will support the human resources department in Recruiting, Onboarding, Employee Assistance, Training and Development, Employee engagement and several other HR admin functions. Incumbent will also assist Sr. HR Manager in implementing various HR Programs, Performance management, Benefits and Wellness programs.

Main job responsibilities include:

  • Work as the first point of contact for the HR team.
  • Job posting, reviewing resumes, shortlisting, screening interviews, performing reference checks, onboarding, and placement.
  • Informing job applicants of job duties, responsibilities, benefits, schedules, working conditions, assigning orientation training.
  • Arranging orientation packages for new employees, creating IT onboarding tickets in a timely manner, assigning workstations, familiarizing new employees to the office and introducing them to co-workers.
  • Replying to standard verification of employment letters and HR Correspondences.
  • Assist in various HR Programs e.g., Mentorship, Internship, Veteran’s Program and Employee Wellness Program.
  • Ensuring all updates relating to employment records related to joining, extension, promotion, salary increase, and termination are completed in all portals  i.e. Ceipal, Keka, Thatch, Employee Navigator, Ascensus, Kastle.
  • Assist in drafting human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards, sharing, and interpreting it to new and existing employees.

Training & Development activities:

  • Conducting Training Need Analysis
  • Conducting HR training sessions for employees
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs
  • Maintaining records of employee participation in all training and development programs

Employee Engagement activities:

  • Finding new and innovative ideas for employee engagement through fun activities which may include, weekly fun activities, bi-monthly celebrations, half yearly get together and annual party.
  • Assist EA team in sending welcome packages to new joiners upon completion of 90 days, work anniversary and birthday gifts to consultants.

Education and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or in a relevant field
  • 6 months to 1 year work experience as an HR Generalist preferred.
  • Employee Training and development experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Solid understanding of HR laws and familiarity with full cycle recruiting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Team management skills
