Position Overview:
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain experience in the construction and property management industries, specifically in project scheduling and resource allocation. The intern will contribute to the efficiency of project execution and gain valuable insights into the complexities of managing large-scale projects within the property management space.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assistance in Scheduling Management:
  • Support in the development and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules, including all phases of project life cycles from initiation to completion.
  • Help in coordinating with project managers and other department leads to gather and integrate project timelines. Data Management and Analysis:
  • Assist in gathering, inputting, and updating project information within scheduling software and tools.
  • Perform basic analysis of project schedules to identify bottlenecks, conflicts, and critical paths.

Resource Allocation:

  • Support in tracking resource availability and allocations across projects to ensure optimal utilization.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on resource utilization and forecasting future needs.

Communication:

  • Facilitate communication between the scheduling department and other departments to ensure alignment of schedules and resources.
  • Prepare and distribute scheduling updates, reports, and information as directed by the Scheduling Manager.

Meeting Support:

  • Participate in scheduling meetings, taking notes and providing assistance in the preparation of meeting materials.
  • Follow up on action items as a result of scheduling meetings to ensure compliance with timelines.

Software and Tools Proficiency:

  • Gain proficiency in scheduling software and tools used by the company.
  • Provide technical support to team members in utilizing scheduling software effectively.

Research and Reporting:

  • Conduct research on industry best practices in project scheduling and report findings to the Scheduling Manager.
  • Assist in the development of scheduling strategies and improvement initiatives.

Educational Opportunities:

  • Engage in learning opportunities within the company to understand the construction and property management industry better
  • Participate in professional development sessions when available.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar).
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with project management and scheduling software is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing is preferred.

  • Hours are 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday, Including 1 hour lunch break.
