Medical Administrative Assistant- Job Description

Private Educational and ABA therapy specialty practice seeking to add a part-time medical administrative support specialist to the office team to work Mondays through Thursdays. The candidate for this position will serve as the medical administrative support specialist for the CEO. The ideal candidate for this position should be well-spoken, organized, detail-oriented, responsive, helpful, and possess excellent customer service skills, have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the simultaneous ability to multi-task/balance multiple work responsibilities while maintaining an appropriate level of productivity.Your responsibilities will include assisting healthcare providers, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Interview Patients: Gather case histories from patients before appointments.

2. Health Records Management: Update and maintain patients’ health records.

3. Initial Paperwork Assistance: Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork.

4. Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule patient appointments.

5. Insurance Claims Processing: Process insurance claims in compliance with legal requirements.

6. Medical Software Usage: Utilize medical software for transactions.

7. Financial Record Management: Manage receivable and payable accounts, maintaining accurate financial records.

8. Patient Queries: Address patients’ queries and ensure high-quality customer service.

9. Collaboration with Medical Staff: Work closely with providers to facilitate medical examinations, schedule tests, and order supplies.

10.Compliance: Ensure adherence to procedures and stay updated with changes in medical and insurance legislation.

11.Answering telephone calls and taking messages and communicating information between healthcare providers and the patient.

12.Organize and update patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations

13.Assist healthcare providers with patient scheduling assessments and parent training
